Supermoon 2: The Sequel is Here

It’s that time again, in July i mentioned that there was a supermoon in the sky meaning that the moon was roughly 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual full moons. Now the time has come again at August 10 we will have the second such moon of the year which concludes with a third in September.

So what’s special about this time?

The moon is at the part of it’s orbit that passes closest to the earth called perigee. At this perigee the moon is 356,922km from earth.

So polish those telescopes and take a closer look.
